We traveled to the Orkney Islands on a cruise of the British Isles.
Our port stop was at Kirkwall on the largest island known as "Mainland" and was our farthest north landfall in the United Kingdom.
We rented a car and visited several well-known sites on the island before exploring the town of Kirkwall itself.
